Abstract (EN)
Diclofenac Sodium; It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is frequently used in the prevention of pain and has long-term use. There are limited and conflicting data on the genotoxicity of diclofenac sodium. In this study, the uninvestigated genotoxic effects of Diclofenac Sodium, one of the most widely used painkillers, on human lymphocytes were investigated by in vitro techniques. The study used Cytokinesis Blocking Micronuclei (CBMN) and Comet test as methods. In the findings obtained; 0.75 and 1 mg/mL doses of Diclofenac Sodium have shown clastogenic activity by increasing micronucleus formation on healthy human lymphocyte cells and cytotoxic activity by decreasing cell proliferation. Diclofenac Sodium did not pose a genetic risk at low doses. According to the data obtained in this experiment, it was concluded that Diclofenac Sodium might have cytotoxic and genotoxic effects on healthy human lymphocyte cells in vitro, depending on the dose and duration. The obtained results are expected to be supported by further studies.
