Abstract (EN)
Dichlorvos, an organophosphorous insecticide, is widely used in agriculturalcontrol and causes poisoning. In the present study, dichlorvos (1 mg/kg day),vitamin C (200 mg/kg day)+vitamin E (200 mg/kg day), vitamin C (200 mg/kgday)+vitamin E (200 mg/kg day)+ dichlorvos (1 mg/kg day) were given to malerats through gavage. Body and kidney of the rats were weightened, histopathological changes were investigated using light microscope 24 hrs, 4 and7 weeks after administration. No statically significant changes of body andkidney weights were observed in dichlorvos treated group and vitaminC+vitamin E+ dichlorvos treated group 24 hrs after, statistically significantdecrease were observed 4 and 7 weeks after. 4 and 7 weeks after dichlorvosadministration, mononuclear cell infiltration and glomerular atrophy weredetected in the kidney tissues. Addition to this, necrotic areas were observed 7weeks after. Also, cell infiltration and glomerular atrophy were observed inVitamin C+vitamin E+ dichlorvos treated group 4 and 7 weeks after. As a result, lower doses of diclorvos caused histopathological changes in the ratkidney. Vitamin C and vitamin E do not protect damage occured in the kidneytissue.
