The application techniques of diction learning for the second grade students of high schools

The research is implemented according to the Basic Law of National Education No. 1739, considering Aims of Turkish National Education. In this study, diction and diction techniques are tought through some text taught in the curriculum of the second grade high school students? Speech Language lesson, Expression and properties unit. Through the recommended techniques, the students are expected to make a habit of the diction skill. In order to achieve the desired skills and knowledge question-answer and telling methods are used. Under the supervision of the teacher the concept and techniques of diction were examined throghout the selected texts and then the students selected some texts and recorded the vocalizations in the same way. The students also ensured to share their recordings with their friends. The students were informed about the features of the expressions in the texts and it is supported with funny exercises and pictures. The applications in our study were done in two separate schools, 100 second grade high school students in Ankara in 2012 and the findings were supported with the literature review. We hope this study will contribute to using Turkish language more correctly and effectively and we expect to add to reveal more aesthetic values and more effective, more civilized communication between individuals of our nation. For this purpose, in applications it is intended to have fun while learning. So a series of practices are done. During the applications students are told about the benefits such as they will gain credibility if they pay attention to diction rules while in the family and among friends and so they will be appreciated in the community. We hope our study will be useful not only for the students who will choose to be lawyer, teacher, clergy, politicians, the announcer, voice artist, call center employees, and so on, but also it will help all members of society. While preparing this work we thought it to be the source for the second grade high school students?
