Abstract (EN)

According to Islamic belief, the purpose of human creation, as expressed in the Quran, is to worship their Creator and live a life in accordance with the divine principles established by Him. Those who live this way are promised eternal life and happiness after death in Paradise. Earthly life, on the other hand, is a preparation and transitional period for this eternal life. The Quran reveals the transience of this worldly life and that humans will be held accountable for their actions during this period. According to Islam, God has endowed humans with the qualities of intellect and free will, elevating them above all other beings and making them responsible. Within the framework of this responsibility, God confronts humans with various events that force them to make choices and make decisions that will distinguish right from wrong. In Islam, this responsibility and the situations they face are expressed through the concept of "test." This study examines the concept of trial in light of Quranic verses and evaluates its meanings within the framework of religious education. The purpose of our research is to reveal the contribution of religious education to a correct understanding of the concept of trial and the reflection of what is learned on behavior, as well as the appropriate teaching methods that can be employed. Thus, we aim to use religious education as an effective tool in acquiring the awareness and behaviors that will lead people to their divine purpose. Our thesis consists of four chapters, including an introduction. This study analyzes the meaning of the concept of trial and provides information on the words associated with it. The meanings of some verses in the Quran related to the test have been presented, and an attempt has been made to clarify the intended meaning of the word in light of commentaries. Our research also provides general information on the perspectives from which the subject is addressed in the hadiths and the views of various sects regarding the test. The final section of our thesis explores how the concept of the test can be addressed within the context of religious education. Evaluations are made to eliminate the negative impact that the idea of being constantly tested can have on people by incorporating the verses and the prophets' role models into education.
