Abstract (EN)

The elementary years in which every person being ready for education and teaching in terms of cognitive and physical starts necessarily, is a period which education life begins as well as personality and character education. In this period, the childhood phase gives place to studentship and the responsibility of education for both child and the family is gradually increasing. The fourth year of primary school education is the period when the curriculum of education of religion and ethics, which differs from other courses in terms of reasons such as the abstraction of course content, the use of a different language culture and the unfamiliarity of the students, gets involved. This study is to aim to identify the problems faced by teachers and students in the teaching of education of religion and ethics, to try to understand the causes of the problems and to suggest solutions for them. For this purpose have been detected the approaches of students and parents to various issues by using qualitative methodology from research techniques. In this context, there are various evaluations about how to teach education of religion and ethics, what to watch out for while using materials, problems of students understanding of the course curriculum and how to look at the education of religion and ethics of the family. The study was carried out in M. Adil Kasapseckin Primary School located in Gaziantep by applying interview technique to 32 fourth grade students and their parents in 2015-2016 education year.
