Abstract (EN)

A human born as a creature who needs education and instruction becomes a social and obedient person by learning the behaviour which is special to him. The most important institutions for people to be social are family, school, friends, religion and means of mass media. Culture shows the identity of a society. In our research, people?s messages for social relations which is found in the main sources of Islam, which represents religious part of Turkish culture, are studied. The institutions which make people being social in a planned and systematic way for social expectations individual needs are schools. When the general purpose and main principles of Turkish National Education are examined, the importance of students? being social is seen. In our schools, the lesson which gives religious and moral messages for students? being social is `Religion Culture and Moral Values?. In this study, we have tried to show the effect of the compulsory lesson `Religion Culture and Moral Values? at 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 th classes on students? being social.Key Words: to be social, identity, Religion Culture and Moral Values.
