Abstract (EN)
The deficiency of energy resources which is a result of the increase in World population and the rapid development of technology impels the human being to use the available resources in an efficient way. From this point, Berlin-based DIN, one of the international standardization organizations, in an other words, German Standards Institute, issued a standard with the name DIN V 18599 Energy Efficiency in Buildings. This standard constitutes the main frame of this thesis. The study includes a total of seven chapters. In the first chapter, some information was provided on DIN V 18599 and the topics covered in the study were explained briefly. In the second chapter, the formula algorithms were presented in a certain order based on the Standard. In the third chapter, information was given about the interface and the programming of Matlab based GUI application which was prepared according to the Standard, the main source of the study. The usage of the program was also described by providing screenshots throughout the chapter. In the fourth chapter, the sensitivity analysis of the Matlab based GUI application was analyzed. To what extent any given parameter affects the net result was analyzed and the outcome was shared and supported by graphs. In the fifth chapter, a study was conducted on an actual structure with the help of GUI application. The annual amount of energy required to light the entire plaza located in Istanbul Atasehir was calculated by using GUI application and the results were shared. In the sixth chapter, a photovoltaic system was designed which compensates the entire energy required, based on the results from the sample structure in the previous chapter. Cost analysis and feasibility of the system also was included in the topic. In the seventh chapter, the results were evaluated.
