Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is discussed that strangeness/otherness experiences in processes which includes recognition and reconsruction identity of religious converts and communicational tactics that is composed by them for to surpass otherness, in the context of findings in the field study which evaluated identity of religious convert on the axis strangeness/otherness, with a scientific semantic. In study, the colleration, between of identity and otherness is handled as a social relation and construction form. İt is focused that social communication practices how reconstructioned of identity in the context of otherness continiously and how transformed identity of religious converts to a recognition struggle. Religious Conversion causes not only tranformation on believe grade but also differentation on identity grade. In this study, it is excluded believe grade (reasons-results) of religious conversion and is interested in identity grade. Because, religious convert reconstructs its identity in the frame of motivation of its new religious believe and engages a recognition struggle against society. Recognition, as a precondition to exist with a identity in modern era, depends the identity to a substantive concensus and reconciliation which is built by social exchanges. Identities which stay out of reconciliation, either unrecognition or false recognition in the eyes of society. Identity of religious convert is a location which shuttle weaving between of unrecognition and false recognition. Differentation, which establishes with religious conversion, snatches being of religious convert from 'our' and transforms it to stranger/other. Religious convert that experiences migration between of identities, is detected as a stranger in the eyes of both societies which is leaved and aimed to arrive, and deals with discrimination and exclusion reflexes that is had it coming for a stranger by society. No longer, religious convert which is perceived a stranger or other, develops for to construct a set of resistance against pressures and to protect from dominations directed its identity and arranges its communicational activities in the form of conpensation mechanism at the same time. Because, linguistic practices which construct the otherness, also embrace power which can destroy the otherness. In Study, it is included to sample also social environment of their which is struggled, with religious converts for to read from the broad perspective the adventures of religious converts. In field study which is realized in sample of Mersin province, is done in-dept interview with sample units and is identified relation of experiments with various theories which is based on testimonies. Study datas analyzed by supported theoritical semantics and fixed that religious converts develop some communicational tactics as a resistance against strangeness/otherness which is experienced in a powerful way.
