Abstract (EN)
Prophecy which has an important place in the social life of ancient societies , has an important role in determining the way of life in all religions and societies. In this context, our study on prophecy has dealt with the phenomenon of divination in religions and some prophets. Primarily sources referring during the study; bibliographic works, history books, dictionaries, hadith works, tafsir books and holy books. Since ancient civilizations prophecy is a specialty that has existed. Prophecy briefly with intuition or inspiration or some signs with commentary by events occurring in the future can be defined as the prediction work. There is hardly any civilization among the ancient civilizations that did not give importance to priesthood studies. There are prophetic beliefs in many societies in ancient times. In spite of there are differences between the belief in prophecy, Hittite, Roman, Indian, Egypt etc. It has an important place in like this cultures. In addition to these, the place of prophecy in heavenly religions such as Islam, Christianity and Judaism has been explained in our thesis.
