Investigation of the effect of exercises using resistance band on some technical skills in football

The aim of this research is to examine the effects of exercises using resistance bands on some technical football skills. The research is an experimental study, a pre-test and post-test control group model was used. The study included 80 volunteer male football players, 45 in the experimental group and 35 in the control group, aged 16-20, whose sports years varied between 1 and 4 years and who actively continued their sports life. In this study, which included an 8 week training program, all groups continued their 8 weeks of general football training after the preliminary tests were carried out. The experimental group was given resistance band training in addition to their general training. To determine the technical skills of the participants, dribbling tests, passing tests, and shooting tests were applied. Post-tests were taken from the groups at the end of the 8 weeks of training. When the findings of the research were examined, the post-test averages of all technical skill tests for the experimental group were found to be high in the pre-test and post-test values and were found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). In addition, in the pre-test, and post-test comparisons of the experimental and control groups, it was observed that there was a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group in dribbling, shooting, and passing values (p<0.05). In conclusion, the findings of this study provide important information about the effects of resistance band training on football-specific dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. These findings underscore the importance of resistance band training for football coaches and other practitioners.
