Abstract (EN)

Purpose: After the application of platelet rich fibrin (PRF) and diode laser to the extraction socket alone and in combination, evaluate and compare of the microsirculation by laser doppler flowmetre (LDF) and early bone formation by fractal dimension analyze (FDA) in the extraction socket. Materials and methods: In the study, 40 extraction sockets were randomly divided into 4 groups, with 10 people in each group. The first group consisted of the control group, the second group applied the PRF, the third group applied the diode laser and the fourth group the PRF and diode laser applied together. In each group, local blood flow was measured preoperatively, postoperatively on days 1,3,7 and 30 with LDF. FDA was performed from the periapical x-rays taken immediately and at the 1st month postoperatively and the results were evaluated. Result: Local blood flow in the tooth extraction socket increased for one week after tooth extraction in all groups, and 1 month later it was close to its preoperative value. When the LDF values were compared in the groups, there was no statistically significant difference. According to the FDA results; increase of fractal size was higher in the experimental groups compared to the control group. While the difference in the PRF and diode laser group was not statistically significant, it was significant in the group that both applied together (p = 0.04). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, the effect of PRF and diode laser on the dental extraction socket local blood flow was not statistically significant and the combined application of PRF and diode laser was effective in accelerating bone regeneration in the extraction socket.
