Abstract (EN)
The study aims is to evaluate the effect of ultrasonic scaling and air flow, which are mostly used in dental surface cleaning, on the polyetheretherketone (PEEK) of different contents which are frequently used in soft tissue surgery. 5mm diameter 3mm ± 0.2mm height disc samples from cylinder filler without PEEK (n = 40), carbon fiber reinforced PEEK (n = 40), glass fiber reinforced PEEK (n = 40) with 15 mm diameter, precision from each PEEK material prepared with cutting device. In the study, 160 samples were prepared in the study, including the ceramic- reinforced PEEK samples (n = 40), which were prepared as a disk with a diameter of 3 mm ± 0.2 mm with a CAD / CAM device of 98.5x24 mm in size with a CAD / CAM device. All samples are randomly divided into 4 different subgroups: control, ultrasonic scaler, air flow, diode laser. After surface treatment applications, roughness measurements were made on all samples. SEM (scanning electron microscope) analyzes were performed by selecting the sample closest to the average according to the roughness values from all surface treatment groups. Study data was evaluated by "Welch" and "Games-Howell" tests. When the surface roughness findings of the samples with ultrasonic scaling were examined, a statistically significant difference was found between the groups (p < 0.05). When the surface roughness findings of air flow treated samples were examined, there was a statistically significant difference in ceramic-reinforced PEEK samples (p < 0.05), while no significant difference was found in other groups (p>0,05). When the surface roughness findings of the diode laser applied samples were examined, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (p>0,05). According to these results, the highest roughness values were found in ultrasonic scaler, air flow, diode laser and control group respectively. In our study, it was concluded that more research should be done about carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced PEEK materials offered as an alternative to ceramic content PEEK used in dental applications. In our study, it was concluded that after the ultrasonic scaler and air flow processes, the restorations should be polished. In our study, it was concluded that the effect of using diode laser on PEEK attachment should be investigated. Keywords: Air flow, diode laser, ultrasonik scaling, polyetheretherketone; carbon fiber, glass fiber.
