Abstract (EN)
Until today many techniques and biomaterials have been used in the treatment of gingival recessions. Connective tissue graft (CTG) is provided best root coverage outcomes compared to other periodontal plastic surgery operations and accepted the gold standard in root coverage techniques. New developments and biomaterials are being developed in these techniques due to the predictability of the techniques, increase their clinical successes and satisfy the increasing esthetic expectations of patients. The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical efficacy of new generation of platelet concentrate concentrated growth factor (CGF) membrane and connective tissue graft in modified tunnel technique. Forthy patients who have Miller's Class 1 and 2 gingival recessions are included in this study. Patients were randomly treated with modified tunnel technique+CTG and modified tunnel technique+CGF. Clinical parameters were evaluated at baseline and 6 months. Percentage root coverage was 90,10±11,63% for CTG group and 75,08±21,61% for CGF group. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in all parameters except width of keratinized gingiva, gingival thickness and mean root coverage. These parameters were significantly different for BDG group. As a result of our study, CGF membrane can be successfully applied to treatment of Miller's Class 1 and 2 gingival recessions. However further clinical studies are needed to support our study results.
