Abstract (EN)

Ceramic is one of the oldest production materials of humanity. In BC 8000 years, the clay fired after the shaping, the ceramics was discovered with that. Ceramic has changed and developed with humanity throughout history and has become an art today. Many artists prefer ceramic materials as part of their art and style. By its nature, ceramics gives the artist extensive styling opportunities. Given its historical value and plastic possibilities, it has been inevitable that ceramic material is a part of art and an expression of the artist. Printing methods, called alternative photographs, cover almost all photography techniques that are not mainstream today. All these techniques have a great and important place in the birth and development of photography art. Many of them are not only on paper; It can also be applied to different surfaces such as ceramic, glass, wood, fabric. Considering the technical freedom of ceramic material, it can be said that these two techniques and arts will feed each other at the point where they are used together. It is seen that the interdisciplinary approach in art has come to the fore since the 20th century. This concept, which has developed up to the present day, frequently appears in the field of plastic arts in the 21st century. Ceramic art, like other arts, is in an interdisciplinary interaction with other fields in aesthetic, visual and technical terms. When the development and results of these interactions are examined, it is observed that they develop, nurture plastic arts and create new perspectives. The master's thesis titled 'Investigating the Effect of Alternative Photo Printing Methods on Ceramic Surfaces' is the Scientific Research Project. Within the scope of the thesis research, the effects of alternative photo prints, Cyanotype, Vandyke and Gum Bichromate, were investigated. The process and results are examined in detail and examples and applications are presented within the positive and negative results.
