Abstract (EN)
Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that causes cognitive complexity and it negatively affects a person's learning process. Specific learning methods and strategies have been developed for children with dyslexia. These strategies are provided with a set of materials that appeal to multisensory approach. To affect visual perception, certain principles and methods of basic design must be used. These principles are applied by synthesizing them with graphic design elements such as typography, illustration and page layout. It must be admitted that there is no single truth when it comes to design, but there are faulty practices that can negatively affect learning. Every child is special and they may have a different learning style. Examining approaches to the appropriate design can help overcome learning difficulties. Dyslexia, which causes difficulties in basic communication areas such as reading, writing and verbal expression can be alleviated with graphic design principles by using the appropriate tools. In this study, instructional materials specially prepared for children with dyslexia are examined in terms of design elements, and the recommended design elements for dyslexia are discussed. As a result of this work, suggestions are offered on how an instructional material designed for dyslexia should be.
