Abstract (EN)
Aim: Hypospadias can be observed with any or all combinations of the following 3 anomalies: 1- urethral meatus being more proximal than it's normal locayion 2- penile curvature (cordia) and 3- lack of ventral foreskin. In approximately 70% of cases, the urethral meatus is located distal to the shaft of the penis. In the distal form of hypospadias, cosmetic and psychosocial problems are more common in boys. The treatment of hypospadias disease is only surgery. The basic principle in this surgery is to achieve a good cosmetic and functional result. For this reason, although more than 300 surgical techniques have been suggested in the publications, but general consensus on the best technique has not been reached. In this study, the clinical results of our patients were evaluated retrospectively. Materials and methods: 113 patients who underwent corrective surgery with the diagnosis of distal hypospadias between 2011 and 2021 were included in the study. Preoperative complications such as the degree of hypospadias anomaly, surgical age, surgical technique, surgical technique stages, type and size of urethral catheter used, postoperative follow-up times, postoperative urethrocutaneous fistula, meatal stenosis, diverticulum and reoperation were evaluated retrospectively. Results: In a series of 113 patients, 4 urethrocutaneous fistulas and 6 meatal stenosis were observed. Modified Snodgrass method was applied with minimally invasive method in the vast majority of patients. Conclusion: The minimally invasive structured modified Snodgrass method gives satisfactory results compared to the original and modified Snodgrass methods specified in the literature. Keywords: Distal hypospadias, Urethrocutaneous fistula, Minimally invasive method
