Abstract (EN)
After the Turks adopted Islam, Arabic, the language of Islam, began to spread among the Turks. After that, Arabic was used as the language of science and religion, and Persian was used as the language of state and literature among the Turkish States. In addition, with the establishment of a new state, the Ottoman Empire, in the 13th century, a new language consisting of the synthesis of Arabic, Persian and Turkish languages began to emerge. With the expansion of the borders of the state for centuries, Ottoman Turkish was shaped and used in wide borders in the 15th century. Divan literature started in the 13th century and reached its peak in the 16th century with the rise of the Ottoman Empire and ended in the 19th century. Divan literature came to the fore with the art of poetry. Poets generally received madrasa education and wrote their poems using aruz. Divan poets have included many subjects in their poems, and seasons are among the subjects covered. Seasons, which are a part of daily life, have been used positively and negatively by divan poets as they affect human life in various ways. The seasons have taken various names according to the subjects they are used in the teşbib section of the eulogies. According to their processing, the spring season is named as bahârriye, the summer season as temmûziye, the autumn season as hazâniyye and the winter season as şitâiyye. Seven poets from seven different regions were selected to examine how the subject of seasons was included in the divans. The Divans of seven poets, Ahmedî from Western Anatolia, Mesîhî from the Balkans, Hayali from Rumeli, Nâbî from Anatolia, Nigârî from the Caucasus, Nûrî Osman from the Islands region and Çeşm-i Âfet from North Africa, have been studied. İt is seen that the most frequent of the four seasons is spring, and autumn, winter and spring seasons are included, respectively. While the spring season is used for revitalizing and refreshing the nature and starting the entertainments in this season, the summer season is mentioned with its sweltering heat. Autumn, on the other hand, is handled in terms of turning the nature pale and evoking sadness, while it is seen that the winter season is used by giving place to the negative effects on human life with its freezing cold. KEYWORDS: Bahâriyye, temmûziyye, hazâniyye, şitâiyye, spring, summer, autumn, winter
