Rind and zahid within classic poetry

Rind and zâhid are two characters which are frequently used in our classic poetry. Although rind is a person who is always shown respect, zâhid is exposed to the second class person. Rind and zâhid are contrast to the eachother completely with their all characteristics. Poets consider themselves as a rind and also they use the adjectives such as beggary, poverty vagrancy, drunkenness and love sickness. In our classic poetry, zâhid appears as a person who can not comprehend the esthetics of Islam, not matured formalist, adviser (who gives advice), but although rind indifferent, unconventional easy-going, easily-satisfied, pathetic person, he enchants with his mind and logic. Rind listens his heart, and he consults with his heart about all things. Zâhid has a prayer beads in his hand, but rind has wineglass. Zâhid forbids love and lover, rind can't stop himself from falling in love, loving beauty. Although zâhid doesn't go out from masjid, rind doesn't pass by there. He settles in pub. Zâhid appears with his beard in spite of the untidy and indifferent appearance of rind. Zâhid does all thing for the hope of heaven, but rind cares neither heaven nor hell. He never thinks about tomorrow. He lives today taht's, he enjoys himself with that moment. Rind doesn't make coceşsion from his sincerity although the hypocrisy is dominant zâhid's religious duty(work). Zâhid gives importance to wealth, but rind desists himself from worldly affairs. Zâhid gives importance to the outer appearance, but rind takes care of the people's inner world. In Classic Turkish Poetry, the poets such as Fuzûlî, Nedim, Bakî, Nefî gives great importance to the character of rind. Except them the other Turkish poets claim to the character of rind, and exalt it. They don't adopt the character of zâhid. The character of rind which gives very important clues about the history of Turkish Poetry influences not only the classic Turkish Poetry but also our modern poetry.
