Abstract (EN)

DLT is a work, composed of one of the keystones of Turkish Literature, written by Kashgartsy Mahmut in early XI. century. The work outstanding as a large dictionary from today's Turkish language also sheds light to customs, living styles, and socio- social structure of Turkish community of XI. century. Many words included in the work have been used until today keeping their originality. As of today, Turkish communities has world-wide spread. One of these communities is Khakas Turks living in a geographical region known as Khakasiya. It is proportional with transformations that words have undergone, which have been used as development and changeability indicators from past to present, and with their extensity of usage areas. The Turkish language is one of the major languages that has addressed to a large geographical area from past to present in the world. Many words society-wide used in old eras continue to function even today. Vocabulary, one of the important indicators of languages appears at this point. In the study, DLT was primarily discussed, and information about this work and period in which it was written were mentioned. Later, Khakas Turks, their living style, history, and language characteristics were discussed. In the review section of the study, the vocabulary of DLT and Khakas Turkish Language were comparatively reviewed. The said comparison consists of four sections. In the first section, words that have not undergone any change in terms of phonetical and meaning;in the second section, words that have changed phonetically but not in meaning; in the third section, words that have not changed phonetically, but in meaning; in the fourth section, words that have both changed phonetically and in meaning were discussed. In addition, words were reviewed in respect to meaning changes. Key Words: Divânu Lûgati't-Türk, Khakas Turkish Language, Vocabulary, Sound and Meaning Changes
