Abstract (EN)
Purpose: This research was conducted in a methodological manner to determine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Diabetes Technology Questionnaire. Method: The sample of the study consisted of 209 type 1 diabetic children and adolescents between the ages of 8 and 18 who are followed up in the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Outpatient Clinic of Koç University Hospital. Data were collected between May and July 2019. Sociodemographic Information Form and Diabetes Technology Questionnaire were used to collect the data.In this study, language/content validity and surface validity analyses were performed for the validity analysisof the Diabetes Technology Questionnaire. For reliability analysis; test-retest analysis (intermittent method), Cronbach's alpha internal consistency analysis and item total score correlation analyses were performed. Findings: The content validity, language validity and surface validity of the scale, which were evaluated for the validity of the scale, were accepted as a valid scale according to the analysis results. The content validity index was 0,98. In order to evaluate the reliability of the scale, Cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated as 0,89. In addition, as a result of test-retest reliability analysis, a statistically significant and strong correlation was found between test-retest scale scores. Conclusion: The results of the Turkish Validity and Reliability study of the Diabetes Technology Scale show that this scale is a Turkish valid and reliable tool. It is suggested that the scale can be used to measure the satisfaction of diabetes technologies used by children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes and to identify problems in this area.
