Özet (EN)
Aim: The purpose of this research, which is planned as a methodological and descriptive, is to study the validity and reliability of the Diabetes Burnout Scale in Turkish population. Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 160 patients who applied to the internal medicine clinics and polyclinics of a state hospital, were diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus and met the inclusion criteria. The research data were collected using a personal information form with 22 questions questioning the sociodemographic and disease-related characteristics of the patients, the Diabetes Distress Scale, Patıent Health Questıonnaıre-9 and the Diabetes Burnout Scale using face-to-face interview technique. Language and content validity, criterion and discriminant validity and construct validity and reliability analyzes of the scale were carried out, respectively. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean, standard deviation), correlation analysis, T test, One Way ANOVA tests, Cronbach Alpha analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and Explanatory Factor Analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The Content Validity Ratio value was found to be 1.00. It was determined that the item-total test correlation values of the scale ranged between 0.493 and 0.744. Cronbach alpha values of the sub-dimensions of the scale are calculated as 0.95, 0.89, 0.86 for exhaustion, detachment, loss of control sub-dimensions, respectively and total scale Cronbach alpha coefficient is calculated as 0.90. It was observed that the Turkish version of the scale fit well with the original model, thus confirming the 3-factor structure of the scale. Conclusion; Diabetes Burnout Scale is a valid and reliable tool that can measure exhaustion status and distinguish metabolic variables in diabetic patients in the Turkish population.
