Comparison of the effects of dialysis qualification parameters on foot circulation and skin with thermal camera findings

Abstract (EN)
Since the presence of chronic kidney disease falls into the high-risk foot group of foot ulcers and the temperature of the ulcerated area increases, thermal imaging is a good technology to achieve the goal of examining the effects on circulation and skin. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of hemodialysis parameters on foot circulation and skin with thermal camera findings in patients receiving hemodialysis for chronic kidney disease. 55 patients with hemodialysis regurgitation (Group I) and 33 patients with hemodialysis deficiency (Group II) who were treated with hemodialysis for 4 hours between January 2019 and April 2019 in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Health Application and Research Center, Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital and Zonguldak Ereğli State Hospital a total of 88 patients were included in the study. Demographic data, age, height, weight, body mass index, sex, duration of dialysis and chronic diseases and laboratory findings were recorded from hemodialysis patients' files and KT / V was calculated by URR. Plantar photographs of the feet of the patients were maintained with a thermal imaging camera for at least 15 minutes after the end of the hemodialysis procedure and the standard measurements were taken in daylight by maintaining a distance of approximately 60 cm. Temperatures of four angiosomes in the feet of hemodialysis patients were calculated by smartphone thermographic technology and average temperatures were determined. In all statistical data analyzes, p values less than 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Age ratio was higher than 92% (61 ± 13.20) and BMI was overweight with 24.6 result. There was no significant difference in the distribution of patients according to demographic and clinical characteristics. The results obtained from the comparison of the angiosome temperatures at the MPA, LPA, MCA, LCA points and the angiosome temperatures at the MPA, LPA, MCA, LCA points and albumin, phosphorus, hemoglobin, kinetic indicators used in dialysis adequacy in hemodialysis patients without peripheral arterial disease were statistically significant was not found (p0.05). These data showed that inadequate or insufficient hemodialysis adequacy parameters had no effect on foot circulation and skin in hemodialysis patients without peripheral arterial disease. This situation did not change when the difference between the two legs of the patients was evaluated. In the patient group diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, there was no significant difference between patients and both legs (p> 0.05).
