Examination of the education of Quran courses for pupils at the age of 4-6, in the Presidency of Religious Affairs according to the trainers and parent opinions

The aim of this research is to examine the education of the 4-6 Age Quran Courses opened by the Prediceny of Religious Affairs according to the opinions of the trainers and parents. The research has two different working groups. The first working group was selected among the trainers working in the Quran Courses opened by Kırıkkale Provincial and District Muftiate. It is based on the fact that the trainers worked in the 4-6 age group during at least one education period. 30 trainers were included in the first study group, which was formed through criterion sampling, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods. The second of the study group was selected from the parents who sent their children to the Qur'an courses of Kırıkkale Provincial and District Muftiate, 4-6 years old, through maximum sampling and consists of 30 parents. A semi-structured interview form developed for the teachers and parents was used as a data collection tool. The interview questions in the interview forms were evaluated by two specialists, validity and reliability studies were carried out. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained, it has been determined that the trainers and parents consider preschool religious education important and necessary, and that the 4-6 age group Quran education conducted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs can meet this need. In addition, it has been determined that there are deficiencies that need to be resolved in terms of instructional education, curriculum, and course materials, and that trainers expect support for the problems they face during the education process. In addition, it is found that parents have high expectations about the Qur'an courses in the 4-6 age group, they have a significant response to these expectations, the trainers do not reflect the problems and deficiencies they encounter in the field, and the parents are generally satisfied with the 4-6 age group Qur'an courses.
