Abstract (EN)

The concept of sustainable development is an important phenomenon that is the subject of many researches today. The research was carried out in a descriptive survey model. In this context, this research was created to examine the sustainability development awareness levels of Diyarbakır Dicle University School of Physical Education and Sports students in terms of demographic variables. Within the scope of the research, 303 participants were reached through a questionnaire and the obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS package program. In the research, "Sustainable Development Awareness Scale" was used to determine the sustainable development awareness of pre-service science teachers. In the analysis of the data, t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) tests were applied to examine the relationships between the data collected from the relevant sample, socio-demographic variables and scale sub-dimensions. Within the scope of the research, Pearson Correlation test was conducted in order to determine the relationship between the sub-dimensions of sustainable development awareness levels. In this context, as a result of the research, it was determined that the sustainable development awareness levels of the participants did not differ according to the demographic variables used in the research and there was a significant relationship (p<0.05) between the social/social awareness and environmental/ethical awareness sub-dimensions, which are among the sustainable development awareness sub-dimensions. It was revealed that there was no significant relationship between the two (p>0.05).
