Effects of soy isoflavon on the delta 9,6,5 desaturase products and cholesterol levels of liver and muscle in quail (Coturnix coturnix Japonica)

SUMMARYMASTER THESIS9, 6, 5EFFECTS OF SOY ISOFLAVON ON THE DELTA DESATURASE PRODUCTS AND CHOLESTEROL LEVELS OFLIVER AND MUSCLE İN QUAIL (COTURNIX COTURNIX JAPONICA)Buket ÇETİNTAŞFirat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied ScienceDepartment of Biology2006, Page: 50In this study the effects of two different doses of isoflavon regarding the fatty acid compositron, vitamins ADEKand glutathione molecules in the liver and muscle tissue of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica ) were examined.Based on our results , the level of vitamin D2 was decreased in group fed with 200 mg isoflavon whereas its levelwas increased with 800 mg isoflavon application however, cholesterol level was low at this doses while the level of GSHwas lower with 200 mg isoflavon application coupared with control. GSSG level was decreased with any applied dose.It was also found that the oleic acid and palmitic acid level of muscle tissues of isoflavon groups were higher thanthat of control. But, at this group stearic acid, level was lower than control groups.The stearik, lnoenic, linolenic, and arasidonik acids application 200 mg isoflavon of liver tissues were lower thanthat of control, but only oleic acid was exceptinal, which was higer than that of control.Key words: Isoflaones , fatty acids , vitamins E and D , muscle , liver , glutathione (GSH and GSSG ), Coturnixcoturnix japonica .I
