Abstract (EN)
PFPS is defined as anterior knee pain that is arisen from the activities increasing with patellofemoral joint reaction forces. In our studies, the effect of anatomic changes that can be measured radiologically over PFPS have been examined. Lysholm modified score table will be used for evaluation. Patients and methods Our research consists of the patients who applied the clinics of Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, department of orthopedics and traumatology with the complaints of anterior knee pain for over six months between the dates of 1st January 2017 and 30th June 2017. This study was carried on with 90 patients after the patients were eliminated who were accompanied with extra pathology. The evaluation was carried out with two groups of knees of the patients, the research group with 103 knees diagnosed as PFAS, and the control group with 77 knees those didn't have any complaints. Results It's been determined in the measurments that tibial slope angles are 80,04 (71,70-81,80) on research group, and 80,97 (70,7-85,5) on control group on average. It's been determined that Insall-Salvati index is 1,17 (0,68-1,78) on research group, and 1,165 (0,71-1,58) on control group on average. Caton-Deschamps index has been observed as 1,11 (0,59-1,76) on research group, and 1,07(0,72-1,6) on control group on average. Sulcus angles has been observed as 129,44º (110º-143,1º) on research group, and 130,05º (114,8º-143,3º) on control group on average. It's been determined a negative correlation only between the age and modified Lysholm score among measured parameters Spearman Rho -0,32 and p 0,001. Conclusion There haven't been any effects caused by tibial slope, insall salvati index, caton deschamps index and sulkus angles for PFAS detected so far. PFAS is a multifactorial disease without a reason. To diagnose it, it must be evaluated in combination instead of only one examination parameter. Key words: Patellofemoral pain syndrome, tibial slope, anterior knee pain
