Abstract (EN)
Considering the increasing number of vehicles today, the environmental impacts of the gases emitted from the vehicles increase significantly in terms of this situation. Some precautions should be taken especially for efficient combustion and low emission values in diesel vehicles. The fuel used in diesel engines may contain chemical substances that can damage engine elements for various reasons. These substances must be separated from the fuel before the fuel is sent to the injector for proper combustion, fuel pulverization and atomization. Fuel filters are used to remove harmful substances such as dust, dirt, rust and water from the needed fuel. Filter papers in fuel filters have an important role in preventing foreign substances in the fuel from reaching the injector and engine elements. It is expected from a filter paper in the fuel filter; can be resistant to high temperature, small enough to filter the particles but not to prevent regular flow, long life, high water holding capacity, shape durability and as low cost as possible. In this study, researches have been made on the selected three filter papers that used in fuel filters. Thickness, weight, bubble point, maximum pore size, bursting strength, air permeability and particle based efficiency values were measured and the best quality paper was determined by optimizating and comparing three different types of paper.
