Abstract (EN)
We owe the current state of automotive technology to the cumulative increase in knowledge in this field and the significant accumulation of expertise in the automotive sector, including its related branches. This knowledge base is continually supported by advancing technologies, ensuring the ongoing development of the automotive industry. Today, one of the most critical aspects of the industry and automotive technology is undoubtedly the control of the systems used. We can evaluate the success of controlling these systems by considering how precisely the systems are controlled and the compatibility of the control with the system's operating principles. Control mechanisms in automotive applications are essential parameters for ensuring driving comfort, road handling, achieving optimal fuel and emission values, and maintaining driving safety. In this study, a controller was designed to regulate the inlet temperature of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and maintain this temperature as close as possible to the target temperature during active regeneration to clean the DPF. Due to the non linear and dynamic nature of the system and the complexities involved, a fuzzy logic controller was chosen for its ability to yield better results in controlling complex structures. The fuzzy logic controller model was calibrated and designed using Matlab/Simulink software until optimal temperature control was achieved. The findings were presented graphically and discussed in the conclusion section of the thesis.
