Abstract (EN)

Burner design and manufacturing were completed, for being used at natural gas, continious feeding, mesh-belt, nitrogen-methanol atmosphere controlled heat treatment furnaces. The natural gas combustion at the two designed burners have been examined as theoratically and experimentally. Excess air value, flue gas temperature, flue gas emission (oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen monoxide and dioxide) and natural gas consumptions were examined according to air pressure and natural gas values in the entry of the burner which taken as variable input. Excess air value was determined according to air pressure and natural gas values in the entry of the burner. Theoratically calculated carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen emissions for different excess air values were determined experimentally. By taking into account the emissions stated in ?Regulations For Control Of The İndustrial Sourced Air Pollution? when the achieved excess air values, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, nitrogen and oxygen amounts were examined as a result of combustion experiments, the determined optimal excess air value to be 1,10. Tolerance value of excess air value was taken as 1,10 + 0,05. When excess air value was 1,10, the oxygen volume of flue gas was 2,20?3,05 %, amount of carbon dioxide was 10,52?10,75 %, amount of carbon monoxide is 0?10 ppm, nitrogen monoxide is 125?150 ppm. With the design of burner, the carbon monoxide and nitrogen monoxide emissions in the flue gas appearing due to combustion of natural gas, were measured considerably below the legal requirements. The air-flue ratio, dew point temperature, adiabatic flame temparature were calculated for the design of the new burner. A 13,68 % improvement in natural gas was obtained with the value of 1,10 for excess air value for combustion of the new burner and its design.Key Words : Heat treatment, burner design, flue gas analysis, natural gas combustion
