Abstract (EN)
The Effect Of Natural Menopause, Surgıcal Menopause And Premature Menopause On Lıfe Qualıty, Sexual Functıons And Depressıon Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of menopause timing on quality of life, depression levels and sexual functions. Material And Methods : A total of 316 women were included in the study, 164 were natural menopause, 100 were surgical menopausal and 51 were premature menopause. The Menopause Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire (MENQOL), Beck Depression Inventory and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) were applied to the women who participated in the study. Results : The age range of the women included in the study is between the ages of 23 and 65 and the average age is 50 years. The frequency of depression was 23.8% and no statistically significant difference was found between the three groups. While there was no statistically significant difference between the total scores obtained from the Menopause Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire (MENQOL); vasomotor symptoms were significantly higher in surgical menopause group compared to the natural and early menopause group (p = 0.001; p = 0.004; p <0.01, respectively). In the Female Sexuel Function Index (FSFI), the total score of the premature menopausal group was statistically higher than that of the natural and surgical menopause group, while there was no significant difference between the natural and surgical menopause group. There was no statistically significant difference between the three groups in the FSFI sub-headings ; request and pain (p> 0.05). Dıscussıon and Conclusıon : As a result, premenopausal, menopausal and postmenopausal period is an important part of women's life, especially when the average life expectancy increases. Measures should be taken to increase the quality of life in all three periods. In the three menopausal groups, there were differences in the quality of life, the level of depression, and sexual functions, depending on the cause and timing of menopause. These differences require different approaches to every woman in the menopausal period. The number of studies in which menopause groups are compared with each other is small. Therefore, our study contributes to the literature. We need more comprehensive studies on this subject. Key Words : Sexual functions, Depression level, Menopause, Quality of life
