An examination from a sociological perspective of the popular religiosity levels of the people of Doğanşehir

This study is based on the popular religiosity levels of the people living in the Doğanşehir district. In this study, conducted in the center and rural areas of the research area, participant observation, interview and survey techniques were implemented. In the introduction of our three-part study, the subject, purpose and importance of the research has been adressed. The first part of our research includes the conceptual framework and describes the concepts of the matter. The level of popular religiosity devotion, which is the result of religious differentiation within the conceptual framework of this study is discussed in the sociological context. In the second section, the methods and techniques of the research, data collection tools and analysis were discussed. After that the scope of the study was detailed. In our third section, we first provide an overview of the research area. After that we evaluate and interpret the findings obtained with questionnaire and interview techniques. In our conclusion, the existence of the popular religiosity level in the Doğanşehir district has been identified and assessed. The relationship between popular religiosity attitudes and various variables were evaluated. This study in the field of popular religiosity is aimed at contributing to the understanding and evaluation of Turkish popular piety.
