Abstract (EN)
Foreign direct investment has been given much further room as a significant factor, especially in rapid development of developing countries, as capital has rapidly been internationalized in recent years. In this work in particular regional and sectoral selectiveness of foreign direct investment in Turkey is investigated. First the concept and certain theories considering foreign direct investment are explained. Following that the effects of foreign direct investment on host country?s economy and the effects of host country?s existing macro economic situation on decisions of foreign direct investment inflows are examined. Finally foreign direct investment in Turkey is analyzed based on its country of origin, sector, characteristic and region. The research is completed by providing its conclusions and a brief evaluation.
