Abstract (EN)
In this study which prepared as a master's thesis, it was aimed that performance analysis of a building which was constructed and strengthened before the 2007 earthquake regulation and to determine whether the results obtained from the analyzes satisfy the 2007 earthquake regulation criteria. According to this, a four-story building in the province of Kocaeli was investigated. The building with frame system, which was built in 1987 and has reinforced in 2000, was modeled with the help of ideCAD Static 8.62 program and analyzed using linear elastic calculation method. As a result of the analysis, it is seen that the first building (unreinforced) and the reinforced structure do not satisfy the life safety performance target for housing in the 2007 earthquake regulation section seven (severe earthquakes having probability of exceeding 10% in fifty years). The study was continued with a new strengthening proposal in accordance with the 2007 earthquake regulation criteria, based on the assumption that the building was not strengthened. In this proposal, the curtain and column mantles of the building were added to the building and the performance analysis of the structure was made by using the linear elastic calculation method. As a result of the analysis, it is seen that the structure provides the earthquake performance target for the houses and it is concluded that the strengthening is sufficient. In this master's thesis composed of six parts, informations about the subject, the purpose of the study and other research on the subject have been mentioned, the information is presented on issues such as the concept of performance, linear elastic calculation methods, performance design principles, evaluation of performance analysis results.
