Abstract (EN)
This study presents the job rotation of security staff working for a Credit and Dormitories Institution. While in dormitories where female students are staying only female staff are positioned, in the dormitories where male students are staying only male staff are positioned. At the main gate of the dormitory both male and female staffs are positioned. There are three shifts which are between the hours 07 a.m-15p.m, 15p.m-23 p.m. and 23p.m – 7a.m. Security personnel works in only one of these shifts. Every contracted security personnel must work 48 hours a week and take one day off. The permanent personnel must work 40 hours a week and take two consecutive days off (a whole day of 24 hours). A security personnel has to work at the same shift for one week and must not work more than eight hours. This study includes both contacted male and female security personnel with the permanent mail personnel. Female permanent employees are excluded. The developed model aims to display how many security personnel are needed, how many of them will be contracted workers, how many of them will be male and female contracted employees and how many of them will be permanent male employees. Next, the study displays a fair job rotation plan by determining off days. Thus, three variables named X, Y, Z have been used. The suggested model is a whole number model which optimizes all aims. An optimum result was reached with the research done in a Credit and Dormitories institution. According to the practice of this institution, less personnel and thus less expenditure on labor force is needed. Additionally, a more regular and fairer plan has been achieved. Key words: scheduling, Credit and Dormitories Institution, minimization of labor force, whole number programming, job rotation planning
