Abstract (EN)
Total of 37 mosaics (42 boards) are discovered in ancient city of Tarsos, Mopsuhestia, Aigeai, Anazarbos, Antiocheia and Zeugma which are included in post graduate thesis on "Sea And River God/Goddess With Mythological Figures In Mosaics In The Eastern Mediterranean". It is determined that the mosaic floors, which portray Poseidon, Oceanus, Tethys, nereid, river gods and mythological figures, are mainly located in triclinium (dining room), oecus (rest room), impluvium (shallow pool), vestibule (corridor), peristyle courtyard and frigidarium (cooling area) in bathhouses of social facilities. Mosaic construction techniques, mosaic art, the mythology of mosaics, the history of geography and geographical distribution of the mosaics are examined in order to understand the mosaics considered between the second and fifth centuries. What kind of changes the mosaics undergo, some hints about the mosaics done in subsequent years modeled from earliest mosaics and the relationship between mosaic compositions and location are evaluated, putting method and style in order which portray the mosaics.
