Abstract (EN)

In this study, drought analysis was conducted for Doğu Akdeniz, Seyhan, Ceyhan and Asi Basins located in the south of Turkey. Data obtained from 35 meteorological and 56 stream gauge stations were analysed. Reconnaissance Drought Index (RDI), Deciles Drought Index, Streamflow Drought Index (SDI) and Aggregated Drought Index (ADI) were used as dorught index calculators. According to results, potential evapotranspiration values were increased for all of the stations in recent years. At α=0.1 level of significance, decreasing trend of drought index values of some meteorological stations and decreasing trend of drought index values of some stream gauge stations were detected. The year 2001 is the most drought year with respect to SDI. Lowest drought index values are determined in Karaisalı, Silifke, Iskenderun, Yumurtalık, Tomarza and Mut stations. Mild drought was experienced in the whole study area with regard to RDI. As a result of regional drought frequency analysis, growth curves obtained by using drought index values.
