Abstract (EN)

This study was prepared for the mineralogical and geochemical investigation of the dislocation metamorphism effects in the EAF zone Palu segment rocks extending for 77 km in the N60oE direction between the Gökdere compressional bend in the Elazığ-Palu district segment and the Hazar Lake loosening bend. The oldest unit in the study area is the Late Cretaceous (Senonian) aged Elazig Magmatites, which mostly consist of volcanic rocks and granitic rocks that cut them. Other units are the Hazar Group consisting of Lower Eocene aged sandstone-shale and marl alternation, the Maden Complex represented by Middle Eocene aged mudstone banded volcanic rocks in places, and the Middle Eocene-Oligocene aged Kırkgeçit Formation represented by conglomerate at the base, reefal limestones at the upper levels and poorly sorted. It consists of the Quaternary Palu Formation consisting of conglomerate and sandstones. The youngest unit of the study area is the alluviums, which are old fluvial deposits dominated by free gravel and sand lithology. Due to the determination of dislocation metamorphism and fault rocks in the fault zones, different analysis methods were preferred, mineralogical examinations, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) chemical analyzes were performed on all rocks. The metamorphism and tectonism in rocks, different studies were carried out to determine morphology of clay minerals and metamorphism. The mineralogic and chemical analyzes shows hydrothermal alteration and fault zone deformation.
