A monographic analysis of Eastern Macedonia Yörükk settlements in terms of folklogy

Folk culture, which has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, constitutes an important part of the cultural assets that have generally belonged to tangible and intangible history and continue. Folk culture, which has a dynamic structure with its changing features, is among the basic values that sustain the social structure. Macedonian Yuruk Folk Culture, which is the subject of this study, also played an important role in the survival of Macedonian communities both in the Ottoman period and after the Ottoman Empire. However, with the pervade of modernization, it has been observed that some important elements of this culture are on the verge of disappearing. For this reason, such a study was preffered in order to contribute to the permanence and sustainability of the folk culture in the region in question. In the compilation of folk culture data related to the subject from the research area, the "observation", "interview" and "interview" methods commonly used in folklore compilation studies were taken as basis. After the compilation study, these data were backed up, then transcribed and classified according to their subjects. Afterwards, the analysis of the aforementioned data was carried out with the techniques in the qualitative research method. As a result of the examination and analysis of the folk culture data in the study area, it has been determined that the people of the region are trying to preserve their own culture, in other words, to preserve and keep it alive against all kinds of external factors, especially modernization.
