Abstract (EN)

East Turkestan, one of the autonomous regions in china, is an important region in many ways, in particular geopolitical and geostrategic aspects. East Turkestan people have been living under repressive and prohibitive policies of China. Therefore, the people of east turkistan have revolted against china time to time and these uprisings created unstability in the country have brought radical elements in the foreground. While People of East Turkestan suggests that this land is their homeland and the Turkish states and communities have lived here since the begining of the history and China occupied their homeland, China accept that East Turkestan is part of the territorial integrity of China. In the other words, while East Turkistan people think that they struggle for independence in their homeland, Chinese autorities think that they purpose to protect territorial integrity of China and approach this problem as fight against terrorism.This thesis aims to discuss the importance of the East Turkestan issue for China and analyze human rights violations which is committed by China in the context of international law.
