Özet (EN)
Objective: The aim of the study is to examine the effects of postpartum discharge training given with different training methods on readiness for discharge, postpartum adjustment process and breastfeeding self-efficacy. Material and Methods: The research was carried out experimentally in Tekirdağ State Hospital between 2019-2021. The population of the research is women who gave birth in Tekirdağ State Hospital; the sample (intervention 1 n=30, intervention 2 n=30 and control group n=30) consisted of a total of 90 mothers. The mothers in the intervention group were given postpartum discharge training with different postpartum training methods (video method for intervention 1 group and verbal narration method with illustrated guide for intervention group 2), and routine postpartum care for the control group. The data of the study were collected with "Personal Information Form, Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale-Newly Born Mother Form, Postpartum Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (Short Form), Postpartum Self-Assessment Scale". As descriptive statistics, mean value, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values for continuous variables; number and percentage values were calculated for categorical variables. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were used in the evaluation of normal distribution as initial analysis, Kruskal-Wallis test, Likelihood ratio, Pearson Chi-square, Kruskal-wallis test, Bonferroni, Fisher's exact test were used in the analysis of data, p<0.05 statistically significant has been accepted as. Resullts: In the study, the mean score of the mothers in the intervention 1 group from the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (Short Form) (66.03±3.94), the mean score of the mothers in the intervention 2 (62.30±3.42) and control group (36,96±5.73) and the difference was statistically significant; The mean score of the mothers in the intervention 1 group on the Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale-Newly Born Mother Form (145.53±8.74), the mean score of the mothers in the intervention 2 group (137.10±6.54) and the control group (65.03) ±9.32) high and this difference between the groups was statistically significant; Postpartum Self-Assessment Scale mean scores of mothers in the intervention 1 and intervention 2 groups were similar (175.06 ± 12.83 and 176.13 ± 13.29, respectively), while the mean scores of the mothers in the control group were lower than those in the intervention groups (225.16 ± 18). ,90) and this difference between the intervention and control groups was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: It has been observed that the discharge education given to mothers in the form of video method and verbal narration method accompanied by a picture guide has a positive effect on the readiness of mothers for discharge, breastfeeding self-efficacy and adaptation to the postnatal period.
