Abstract (EN)
The Effect of Postpartum Midwifery Care on Maternal Bonding and Posttraumatic Development Aim: This research was conducted to determine The Effect of Postpartum Midwifery Care on Maternal Attachment and Posttraumatic Development. Material and Method: This study was conducted using a semi-trial model with pre-test and post-test control groups. The population of the study was registered to the with primipara women consulted Erzincan Mengücekgazi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi (EMEAH). Results: "Maternal Attachment Scale (MAS)" and "Posttraumatic Development Inventory (PTDI)" pre-test averages revealed that maternal bonding and posttraumatic growth in experiment and control groups was similarly (p>0.05). In the MAS the post-test score was found to be 101.85 ± 2.85 in the experimental group and 98.68 ± 5.91 in the control group and so the mean scores between the groups were found to have statistically significant difference (p <0.001). In the PTDI the post-test average of total scores in experiment group is 86.21±20.39, control group is 79.54±22.32 and so the mean scores between groups were found to have statistically significant difference (p<0.05). PTDI From the Change in Life Philosophy sub-dimension the post-test average of total scores in experiment group is 19.37±6.04, control group is 16.17±6.83 and so the mean scores between groups were found to have statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that postpartum midwifery care given affected maternal attachment and posttraumatic development level in women in a positive way.
