Textile art applications in sculpture forms used with copper wire and different materials in woven fabrics

Weave is an understanding that develops with culture in line with needs that has been going on since the first periods of human existence. Weaving made before the Industrial Revolution was to meet the needs but with the development of culture and rapid progress in technology, today it has become a medium where thoughts are transferred. In this context, the works of textile, which are described as art, first appear in tapestry and woven painting known as 'Tapestry.' Textile artists who grew up with the Arts and Craft movement and Bauhaus school opened the doors of a new narrative language in textile by using experimental work methods, creating aesthetic integrity with traditional and original techniques. Textile art is based on using of different materials by combining traditional weaving techniques with original weaving techniques and developing them with the original interpretations of artists. In this context, this thesis is aimed at making weaving works in voluminous, experimental and sculptural form. Under this thesis which is titled as "Use of Copper Yarn and Different Materials in Woven Fabrics by Textile Art Applications in Creating Sculptural Forms", after giving historical background information in the introduction part of this thesis, the first section was handled under the different sub-branches like; "What is art, its relationship with textiles?", "Textile Art and Historical Process", "Textile Art and Sculpture Relation", "Woven Fabrics and Examples of Textile Art Created by Weaving Techniques", Material and Properties Used by Textile Artists in Sculptural Works Created by Woven Fabrics and Techniques", "Weaving Techniques Used by Textile Artists in Sculpture Works." The second section, named "Sculptural Textile Art Applications Created by Weaving Techniques with Copper Wire and Different Materials" are also separated different sub-branches like; "Examples of Textile Art Created by Using Copper Wire, Steel Wire and Different Materials in Woven Fabrics", "Weaving Techniques and Copper Wire, Artwork in Sculptural Form Using Different Materials", "Starting Point", "Method", "Material", Experimental Fabric Works and Evaluation", "Art Works and Evaluation." Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer with the determination of output points and 36 experimental fabrics were produced. The effects of copper wire and different materials were used in woven fabrics in sculptural form. For this purpose, 9 hand-woven looms were produced on a manual hand loom.
