Views of school managers about the document management system, problems and solution suggestions

This study was carried out in order to evaluate the Document Management System (DYS) used in the Ministry of National Education according to the opinions of school administrators. The research was carried out using the phenomenology design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The data were collected at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year with a semi-structured interview form. The study group of the research consists of 25 school administrators, 23 male and 2 female, working in Kozaklı district of Nevşehir province between the 2020-2021 academic year and the 2021-2022 academic year. The analysis of the data was made using the descriptive analysis method. In the research findings; It is seen that school administrators have generally positive opinions about DYS, however, some problems are encountered in the use of DYS, and school administrators have opinions that DYS should be improved. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the majority of school administrators found the technology and interface of DYS sufficient. It is seen that school administrators draw attention to the multiple advantages of DYS regarding its effectiveness. It was concluded that the number of school administrators who argued that the problems encountered in the use of DYS are external problems. In order to improve the quality and efficiency of DYS, school administrators focused on the idea that software improvements should be made. It was concluded that the school administrators expressed their views on the importance of individual efforts and the necessity of comprehensive education at the same rate on user training of DYS. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the majority of the school administrators who participated in the research had a "relevant user" profile on DYS.
