The syntax in The Dokuzuncu Hariciye Koğuşu

In this research, Peyami Safa's novel: "Dokuzuncu Hariciye Koğuşu" is examined according to syntax approach." In the syntax composition word groups, sentences and the elliptical structures are analysed in three part. In the word groups part, first the structure and types of each word groups are determined. After that; the connection of word groups among the other word groups are identified and the position of the words in sentences are assessed. In the sentence part the conjuctioning styles between the sentences, the special features which the predicates gained according the their place, the positive, negative and interrogative styles of the sentences are ascertained. As a consequence of these results, the examples of these sentence in the novel are determined. In elliptical structures part, the ideas are discussed why we usually use this kind of sentences.
