Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of the Italian folk theater tradition Commedia dell'Arte on the opera Don Giovanni, whose libretto was written by Lorenzo da Ponte and composed by Mozart, were examined. In this context, firstly, Commedia dell'Arte was examined, then Tirso de Molina's El Burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra, which is the first version of the Don Giovanni story, and the period in which this work was written, also called the Golden Age of Spanish Theatre (1492-1681), were examined. Afterwards, the effects of the Commedia dell'Arte on the Spanish Golden Age Theater and the inspiring sources of Lorenzo da Ponte and Mozart in the process of preparing Don Giovanni opera were investigated. Finally, the direct and indirect effects of Commedia dell'Arte on Don Giovanni's opera were examined. The main purpose of the study is to provide data to the researchers as well as to provide in-depth information about the work to the opera directors and to the opera singers who will perform the roles in this work. In this context, it is aimed to create an enlightening resource that deals with Don Giovanni's opera and its origins with different views and approaches in order to perform the future representations of the work in a more in-depth manner.
