A comparative research to investigate the role of transformative leadership in the achievement of airline businesses: The analysis of bulutlarin üstüne tirmanirken and from worst to first

The aviation sector is highly affected by technological, political and economic developments. It is an undeniable fact that businesses must keep up with these rapid changes and developments, especially as they are affected by technological developments. It is possible to adapt to these changes not only by concrete factors such as equipment or technology, but also by adaptation in its organization. One of the major actors of the adaptation process to all these changes is the business managers. Managers' understanding of management and leadership characteristics are as effective in the formation of a particular culture as they are in the process of adapting to these changes. The further this adaptation process can be minimized and the faster adaptation can be achieved, the success of the enterprise will also go a long way. Therefore, in this study, we will examine the leadership characteristics of managers in airline companies. The role of these features in the positive or negative processes of airline companies will be explained. The aim of this study is to examine the leadership characteristics of airline managers and their roles in the life span of airlines. The content of the study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, airline management is focused and in the second chapter, leadership is focused. In the third chapter, transformational leadership is discussed and in the fourth chapter, content analysis of "Bulutların Üstüne Tırmanırken'' written by Cem Kozlu and "From Worst To First" written by Gordon Bethune, is analyzed and airline management and transformational leadership are discussed together. In the fifth chapter, the findings of the research were interpreted and the results were evaluated.
