Rapid progress in computer technology significantly affects the automotive industry. Researchers have done many studies to convert cycle analysis to software in order to compare engine performance easily. It can be easily analyzed how an engine performance affected by changing many parameters engine size, fuel type, compression ratio, valve timing, injection timing, air excess coefficient of such as via simulation programme.In this thesis a simulation programme was developed for analysis of four stroke, single cylinder, normally aspirated, direct injection diesel engine cycle. Firstly thermodynamic calculations of engine which will be simulated was done. In this model, real cycle loses was considered. Afterward the model was transformed to simulation by MATLAB programming language. At the end of the simulation, engine performance curves were obtained at full load in range of 1 degree CA cylinder pressure, temperature and different engine speeds (1000?4000 min-1), different compression ratios (16:1?20:1?24:1), various air excess coefficients (1,3?1,5?1,7).Pressure, temperature, net work, mass of the burning fuel, heat release rate, the average cycle pressure, friction power, mechanic efficiency, engine power, engine torque, specific fuel consumption and thermal efficiency graphs which were obtained were interpreted.
