Examination of manufacturing technologies at the upholstered furniture business according to the scale of management (examples of Ankara - Kayseri)

Managements on Ankara and Kayseri provinces of Central Anatolia Region which are developed in the sector of upholstered furniture industry are examined. The aim of this study is to determine technological problems in production of those managements which manufacture upholstered furniture on those provinces, in accordance with their scales and offer some resolution advisories. In perspective of this aim, 55 managements on the provinces of Ankara and Kayseri are chosen spontaneously and problems they encounter are determined by using survey and observation techniques. As a result of researches, it is determined that technological problems differ according to the scale and the legal status of those managements and the characteristics of the province they located. According to this, the lack of barcoding systems and the deficiency of using band systems are determined as the most common problems encountered by small, medium and large scaled managements. It is also determined that the smaller the scale of the management gets the bigger the problem gets. As a result of the assessment made on account of managements? legal situations, it is determined that the most common technological problems are the deficiency of using band systems and the lack of barcoding systems. As a result of the assessment made on account of managements? situation on using up to date technology, it is determined that the most common problems encountered by the managements are the deficiency of using band systems, the lack of barcoding systems and the lack of skilled labor in production. As a result of the assessment made on account of managements? locations, it is determined that the most common technological problems encountered by the ones in Ankara as compared to the ones in Kayseri are deficiency of using band systems, lack of barcoding systems and the lack of skilled labor in production.Result; It is determined that managements should take advantage of up to date technological developments in order to minimize technological problems they encounter.Key Words: Upholstered Furniture, Technology, Production
