The traces of drone technology, one of the most important developments of the 21st century, actually dates back hundreds of years. Today, many individuals, institutions, and businesses use drones for different purposes. Drones, whose use has become widespread in recent years, have also begun entering businesses' inventories at an increasing rate. Businesses need more than digitalization to gain an advantage in today's competitive environment. In businesses where drone usage has begun in their activities, the need for drone operators is also increasing day by day. Drones are used, and drone operators are employed in many areas such as agriculture, photography, media, and military. The integration of drones and drone operators in businesses has attributed many responsibilities to recruiters regarding drone operators' employment criteria. The purpose of this study is to give a point of view towards drone operators, potential drone operators, and employment phases for businesses that are already using or have the potential to use drones. Drone use and drone operator employment in enterprises are examined at the business level by conducting in-depth interviews with experts working as drone operators in different sectors to achieve this goal. Data from in-depth interviews are subjected to content analysis. The data is analyzed by examining under codes and themes. Inferences have been made about the use of drones and the qualifications that drone operators should possess. This study presents that drone usage for businesses and the employment of drone operators provide advantages in terms of time, cost, and quality factors in a competitive environment. These factors and their advantages create new business opportunities by increasing drone activities in businesses. Businesses need to employ qualified drone operators. Qualified drone operators' employment criteria are eye and muscular health, attitude and behavior, aviation-related interests, aviation know-how and analytical skills, training and technical information, and adaptation to different working conditions.
