The regulation of the information for external wall coating products

In last years, various new products are developed by changes in building production and socialstructure and also by new innovations, technologies, techniques and demands in developedbuilding products area. As a result of this, following a determined way and improving some newtools which will help to the architecture to give a quick and right decision for product evaluationand selection becomes an absolute necessity.The architecture who is the decision maker in product selection and using issues for differentphases of building production, can not reach to the sufficient data related with the productwhenever he/she wants.In this study, the steps of the product selection management, which are arrangement of thealternatives according to the product information and constituting the information tables of thealternatives are examined.Firstly external walls and external wall coatings are defined. After the classification of externalwall coatings according to the different aspects, environmental factors that affect the externalwalls and functions and qualifications of external walls are explained. After arranging theproduct alternative based on the expected quality, product information tables which facilitateproduct selection and help to the architecture who provide the object oriented information arepreparedIn a building that is constituted by collecting various products, the external walls cover thewidest area and are affected by the environmental factors. Generally, wall is covered by externalwall coating to add aesthetics to the building or to resist harmful affects of natural and syntheticenvironmental factors. External wall coating products can be stone, ceramic, metal, wood, glass,concrete, plaster or paint sourced according to the usage aim and also the applications of thesecan be in various kinds. The important thing in coating products is not only the aesthetics butalso the low maintenance and repair expenses, easy usage, protection to atmospheric affects andinsulation for heat, noise and water specifications. These specifications should be known andproduct information should be reachable to meet the user requirements, to give right decisionsfor product selection and as a result of these to provide the healthy buildings that have comfortspecifications.Key words: External wall, coating products, classification, product selection, productinformation, product tables.
